After losing Jack, Chris wrote,
“I found your book A Time To Decide, A Time to Heal a great comfort when trying to make the most difficult decision in my life. Now our friends & family are asking us if there is an organization that we’d like them to make a contribution to in the name of Jack Hazen. I want to make sure that there is a way for everyone out there faced with this decision to get this book.”
For a number of years, genetic counselors have asked if there is a version of A Time to Decide, A Time to Heal written in Spanish. The answer has always been ‘no’. The cost of having the entire book translated and reprinted was prohibitive. Yet, having a whole segment of the population unable to access this resource was troubling.
The Jack Hazen Memorial Fund is now established to help serve parents who are Spanish–speaking in hopes of ensuring that no one, no matter what their primary language, will be without such a comforting resource. All of the money collected will go directly towards the development of a Spanish version of A Time to Decide, A Time to Heal.
